Apart from the fact that Materuni Waterfalls is an all-around destination, the dry season from June to October is considered to be the best time to visit the Materuni village. As the walking trails are not muddy and slippery making it a comfortable hike for visitors. However, visiting in the rainy season (March to May and November to December) the hike and trails can be slippery making an adventure day for travelers. What to wear in Materuni depends mostly on the season you are visiting. We recommend Hiking shoes that are comfortable with good grip, and a waterproof jacket if you will visit during the rainy season. During dry season hiking sands and sports sneakers will also get you through the hike. In general Dress in lightweight, breathable clothing for a comfortable hike. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sun protection. Bring a swimsuit if you plan to swim in the waterfall pool, a small towel and a bottle of drinking water will be provided but bringing extra is recommended for better hydration during the hike.
